My surrealistic selfie conveys one of the two dedications in my life. School. It took me a bit to bring out my creative side, but I knew it had to do with something I enjoy and a vast part of my life. For my selfie, I used two apps (not including the camera app), PixLr and Adobe photoshop. PixLr was very helpful with the editing, with the filters, the contrast, the vibrancy and all of that good stuff. It took me some time to think of my final design, so with that I had to find a photoshop app. Fortunately, Adobe photoshop was really helpful and easy to make my selfie included into my whole self portrait. The editing didn’t take long, it was the design that took me a while. Once I planned that out, it was very simple and fun to edit my self portrait.
The two photos that are double exposure are two of my favorite buildings, which I took on college visits. The UCSD Geisel Library and the famous mission-style building at SDSU which consists of lecture halls. These photos represent my goals that I’ve had since middle school, they represent my hard work in where I want to be next year and after. My actual selfie I took in one of my classrooms, which also relates to my hard work and what my high school career has been dedicated to in order to be sitting in either of those buildings next year. So putting all the photos together ties what my life basically consists of, school because I want my goals to be accomplished. My selfie actually says a lot about me. It says that I am driven, dedicated, and sure. I am driven in accomplishing my goals, I am sure of what I want and where I want to be, and that is why I’m so dedicated to school and always have been. For me, it’s a perk that I enjoy school because I want to gain as much knowledge as I can, I know with that mindset, it can be beneficial. I have a big smile on my face while I’m doing my work, and people may think it’s “odd” that I enjoy school, but I know I’m not the only one who has goals like I do. I think everyone should have that same drive and mindset if they have similar goals. I know that in the end, “hard work pays off”.
